Mike Nash is a Director of Gamma Secure Systems Limited, a specialist information security consultancy based in the UK but operating internationally. He provides advice concerning security policy to governments and major commercial organisations worldwide.
Dr. Nash has a long background in security standardisation. His first involvement came in 1985, using the US TCSEC “Orange Book” within NATO. He then helped develop the UK national criteria, the ITSEC and finally the Common Criteria. He has been a member of ISO/IEC JTC 1 Subcommittee 27 since its formation in 1990. This is the premier formal standards committee dealing with Information Security, responsible for such well-known standards as the ISO/IEC 27000 series on Information Security Management Systems. He is currently the Project Editor for several International Standards. He leads the BSI (British Standards Institution) shadow group responsible for monitoring ISO/IEC TR 29193.
