Andrew is responsible for Secure Software at OrbisIP, where he works on the conception, analysis and incubation of novel information security intellectual property and products. He performs global technology scouting, due-diligence assessments and manages early-stage technology maturation, working closely with a global network of partners from academia and industry. Digital forensics, cloud computing, trustworthy systems and secure software development are areas of specific technological interest to him. He also works closely with the UK Secure Software Development Partnership.
Previously, Andrew worked as a Software Security Analyst for Alta Innovations whilst simultaneously reading for a PhD in Computer Security. He was co-organiser of the Computer Security and Formal Verification research group at the University of Birmingham and of the 10th International Conference in Information and Communications Security. He also taught courses on component-based software development and information theory whilst in this role. Andrew's academic research focuses on using execution monitoring and formal verification techniques to enhance the abilities of anti-malware technologies, and has culminated in him providing a novel anti-malware solution which is now at the productisation stage. He has published his research on these topics within the top ten conferences in Computer Science.
