- Getting Started in Building Security In

The First International Secure Systems Development Conference will take place 20th - 21st May 2010, in London, UK. This conference will bring together professionals at all level, from CISO's to programmers, so that they can share a common shared understanding of Application Security and the challenges in building and delivering Secure Systems.

Location:

1VS - The Westminster Conference Centre - is a prestigious location in Central London The location, close to Westminster and Victoria Station is regularly used by many Government departments and agencies and allows easy connections to national rail, coach and London Underground services. This makes the venue dieal for the software and security development community, Financial/Government institutions located in Central London, and for international delegates arriving at Heathrow or Gatwick.

Format:

2 day conference focused on both Management/Strategic and Implementation-level topics in application security and secure systems development, with associated tabletop exhibit space.

Theme:

The International Secure Systems Development Conference addresses the issues around designing-in security to standard and web-based.software, both in terms of developing new applications securely and adding security to legacy applications. The aim is to help change the balance away from a repeated and ever more costly focus on securing ever more insecure infrastructures, to one which focuses on the creation of inherently secure systems through the introduction of verifiable, secure development methodologies and coherent security architectures.

Objectives:

To bring together the key groups of people who need to be involved in creating the right environment for developing secure systems and applications within an organisation. To facilitate this the conference will offer appropriate streams that will enable the right people from across an organisation to get together and create the strategy that would ensure that they are setting the example to their suppliers, competitors and customers that their organisation takes security seriously enough to build security into the organisation as well as into its products and services.

Target Organisations:

Any team or individual who is responsible for, or is engaged in managing, designing, producing, or developing software applications, systems and hardware. End-User organisations targeted include  UK and European Major Organisations including Banks, other Financial Institutions, Government Bodies, Security Services, Telco’s and PLC’s designing new systems in house or managing existing/legacy systems. Industry/Vendor organisations include developers of “mission critical” software, embedded systems, security software, & business applications creating software for resale.

Target Functional Level:

This would include Lead Developers, Systems Architects, CISO's, CTO's, Compliance, Risk & Audit Professionals, Government Policymakers and others involved in systems development.
